About Course

This course prepares individuals with the extensive skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced level of first aid response in a large range of emergencies.

Throughout the course, students will learn how to assess complex emergency situations, provide advanced life support, including managing airway obstructions, severe trauma, and deal with medical emergencies such as anaphylaxis, strokes and heart attacks. The training covers techniques such as using an automated external defibrillator (AED), and conducting basic first aid for fractures, burns, and spinal injuries. Students will learn skills in coordinating with emergency services, managing multiple casualties, and applying advanced care until professional medical assistance arrives.

This course outlines the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

This training applies to all persons who may be required to provide an advanced first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.


Delivery Mode

This course is delivered face-to-face with additional self-study required*.


Course Duration

HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid is a 8 hour course in-class with additional self-study required*.

As per Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, refresh HLTAID014 certificate every 3 years.

CPR component is required to be refreshed every 12 months.
